(CNN) — Jordan announced that its air defense systems intercepted and shot down four missiles fired from Iran, on Tuesday morning local time, Jordanian news agency Petra reported, citing a military source.

The agency added that the fragments of the rockets fell in several locations, without resulting in injuries or material damage, noting that the Royal Engineering Corps teams dealt with the fragments, in accordance with the approved technical and security measures.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump informed Congress of the resumption of what he described as “limited military action” against Iran.

In return, Tehran launched attacks on US allies in the region, announcing that it had targeted what it called“two rogue supertankers.”

In recent hours, Iran has launched several waves of attacks towards Bahrain.

For its part, the UAE announced that Iranian missiles hit two of its tankers in Omani territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one of their crew members.
