The Bahraini High Criminal Court sentenced 3 defendants to life imprisonment and ordered the confiscation of their seized items, after they were charged with collaborating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, according to the Bahrain News Agency, in the latest Bahraini security measures against those collaborating with Iran.

Details from the Bahrain News Agency indicate that information was available regarding the first defendant, a wanted security fugitive outside the country who works for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. He recruited the second defendant in Bahrain to provide him with information on vital locations in the country in order to target them during the escalating wave of Iranian attacks.

The agency also reported that the details of the second incident indicate that the defendant communicated with online accounts managed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, providing them with video clips of Iranian attacks on vital installations in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to sending locations and coordinates of vital sites within the country to target them, thereby threatening the security and safety of Bahrain and the lives of its citizens and residents.

At the same time, the Bahraini Public Prosecution initiated investigations into both incidents immediately upon receiving the reports, interrogated the defendants present inside the country, heard witness testimonies, and appointed technical experts to examine the seized electronic devices.

The investigations concluded that the information provided by the defendants to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard formed a "fundamental pillar in the hostile, sinful Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted a number of vital and important installations and facilities within the Kingdom of Bahrain, thereby endangering the country's security and stability."

In the same context, the Public Prosecution ordered the referral of the defendants to the High Criminal Court. The two cases were heard separately over several sessions, during which all prescribed legal guarantees were observed, including the presence of the defendants' lawyers and enabling them to present their defense, until the court issued its aforementioned ruling in today's session, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

In this context, the Public Prosecution emphasizes that the crime of collaborating with foreign countries hostile to the Kingdom of Bahrain is considered one of the "most serious crimes affecting national security," as it enables those countries to obtain information used to carry out hostile acts targeting the Kingdom and its interests.
